We are Danny and Carol Delcour, owners of Country Bumpkin Shih-tzus and we live out in the country where we have deer, rabbits and occasionally an armadillo or two running around in the front yard. We are located in the heart of the Ozarks in Norwood, Missouri.
We have been raising Shih Tzus and other small breed puppies for around 20 years or so. It all started with my love for my companion Bashful. He was a Shih Tzu and such an amazing dog with a great personality and he was so human. Bashful knew what you were saying when you talked to him. We started out with 2 females and a male. Wow, they were so amazing! Our son fell in love with them also. He was only like 6 years old when we started out now he is almost 28. Danny and I both have worked outside jobs along with raising beautiful puppies. We just want everyone to feel the love of owning a Shih Tzu.
I retired in January of this year from my job as a paraprofessional at our local school. I worked in the Early Childhood Department and loved every minute of it. Now I am a full time puppy mom and love every moment of it.
Now that I am retired I have decided that I have more time and will start showing some of our adults in local dog shows. We have helped with several in the past few years, so now it is time to start showing some.
We also raise Schichons that are ICA registered, they are a mix between a Shih Tzu and a Bichon Frese’. They are so fluffy and adorable.
